His new album "Awake Experience" scheduled for 2020 corresponds, as its title suggests, to a new experience, during which Lakay intends to venture further into the consciousness of his listeners, to lead them towards a higher energy state

Lakay vibrates his sound productions around a wide range of musical universes : sometimes jazzy, sometimes klezmer and gypsy, responding to the codes of dub and dubstep, and traveling on a tireless drum'n'bass rhythm. And this stylistic richness has names! To carry out this awakened experience, Lakay surrounded himself with the poetically surly voices of Robert Spline and Arash Sarkechik, as well as the alto saxophone of Renaud Vincent, notably responsible for sounds similar to the traditional klezmer clarinet. Alongside these collaborators, five musicians join and create a fusion conducive to establishing a dialogue with receiving spirits: Mat Kalybrid (from the band Kaly Live Dub) provides dense and enduring drums; Guillaume Andreoletti (banjo) and Laurent Parodi (derbuka) color the project of North African influences. As for Antoine Colonna, violinist, he enriches this oriental energy and gives the project a Balkan charm. "Awake Experience" is an album that caters to another dimension. Indeed, Lakay's project constitutes a bewitching procession, aimed at accompanying a transition process from a so-called "normal" state of consciousness to a modified state of consciousness. So, if Lakay has abolished geographical, cultural and stylistic boundaries since his first musical projects, he is now attacking those that separate the trance from the fully awakened consciousness. Visually, the CD artwork is made by Matt B, an artist who also worked on the visual of the previous albums : two faces, one perennial, the other transcended on all sides by neonized beams, seem to give birth to each other. It illustrates brilliantly the waking experience to which the listeners of "AwakeExperience" are invited.

"Awake Experience" is a project born from the notions of plurality and cohesion. Wrapped in a richly textured, disarticulated and yet coherent psytransy, the album is an invitation to a tireless dance. It will be released in 2020 at Hadra Records and Salamah Productions.
